The Shout-Outs #3

This is a series of articles dedicated to all the bands and artists that participate on our campaigns over the years. A humble presentation in order to motivate them to keep going.

Griffin Tucker

Griffin’s sound is being hailed as THE NEW WAVE of CLASSIC ROCK.  Driven by a disobedient rock & roll spirit, Griffin’s “no excuses” play it loud attitude recalls a time when music was real and rock and roll dominated the air waves.
Because Griffin won the Texas 10 under 20 Guitar contest at the Dallas International Guitar Festival, you may think he’s just another great guitar player; but, he is also equally equipped on drums, piano, bass, mandolin & ukulele. And he can sing! He has appeared on THE VOICE & also earned a GOLDEN TICKET to Hollywood on American Idol where he received high praise from Katy Perry & Lionel Richie for his level of talent & musicianship. Griffin was recently nominated for the highest designation an artist can receive from the Texas State legislature, “Texas State Artist – State Musician”.
The release of Griffin’s debut album, “Believe It”, gave the world its first taste of Griffin’s own brand of rock & roll. From the powerful ballad “Some Kind of Love Song” to his rock anthem “Believe It”, every note that is sung and sound that is heard was written & performed by Griffin. This was only the beginning of his promise to “KEEP ROCK ALIVE” & carry the torch for the bands that inspired him, like The Beatles, KISS, ACDC, Queen & Led Zeppelin.

2021 will soon see the latest chapter in Griffin’s journey as he unleashes his band, The Real Rock Revolution, and a slew of singles that will rock your socks off! You ready?

Carolina Reign

THE Singer

Krystal, being a pastor’s daughter, was raised in the church and brought up on ONLY Hymns, gospel and the Oldie Goldies!! As that may be a shock to many of you who have heard her sing, she will tell you that her ability to belt-it-out started in her early 20’s when she started mimicking Christina Aguilera, P!nk, Pat Benatar, Melissa Etheridge, Celine Dion, just to name a few of her vocal inspirations. As a mother of 6, Krystal has managed to win 2nd in the nation for a vocal competition out of Denver, Colorado and open for Lita Ford and Firehouse!! “There is alot of soul and feeling in that voice” are many the remarks of her fans, and that what she strives for; to make those listening connect with her and the song!!

THE Bassist

Jim has ALOT of musical history under his belt in his ripe age!! And when he too decides what he wants you to know, we wil update you here. What we DO know is that in his time away from playing music he and his woman, The Singer, own a furniture business that keeps him VERY busy along with playing with his cat named Sushi!!

THE Guitarist

Oh, what can we say about the man with all the guitar riffs!!!! Mike resides in Las Vegas, Navada with his wife and no pets! When he comes up with fun things to say about himself, we will let you know (lol)!

THE Drummer

Mike is a second generation drummer, originally from Rockford, IL, that LOVES his craft and won’t stop until he’s dragged off the stage!! Currently residing in Las Vegas, NV, Mike has played in Country, Metal, Punk, Cover/Pop, Brass, and Rockabilly bands. Mike’s a Navy veteran who loaded bombs and missiles on the USS JFK. He’s a hard-hitting, pocket drummer who enjoys riding his Harley and smackin’ a golf ball in his down time.

The Garage Boys

Only a few miles from the Las Vegas strip in June of 2007, four guys, that had never met, rehearsed for the first time in a beat up old studio. Little did they know that seven years later they would be hailed as one of the most exciting and sought after rock bands in Nevada.

The Garage Boys have stood the test of time; touring, recording and performing in just about every circumstance known to all band kind. Most bands pack it in after a few months…a year tops. Who can blame them; it’s a tough industry. However, these guys are not stopping. They are a high energy, 100% organic, rock band. They released their second album, “Sgt. Peckers”, June of 2015, which is guaranteed to be a huge success worldwide. Their unique sound reflects their influences, which range from The Beatles and Stones, to STP, Weezer, Bob Marley, Sublime, Thin Lizzy, Metallica, Radiohead, Bon Jovi and even Steely Dan.

Their latest album was released June 20th of 2017. It is their most Bi-polar to date: and that’s the way they want it. The Garage Boys are not interested in forming a generic sound where every track is the same as the last. One song will be glam-rock, Reggae the next, and another will be old school classic country rock…the way bands used to do it.

Staying true to themselves, they exclaim: “We just write what we like, no matter what. We believe in what we do”.

The Garage Boys are:

Bryan Duffy: Lead Vocals and Guitar.

Aaron Harris: Bass/Keys and Production.

Craig Small: Drums and Lead Vocals.

The Garage Boys will be performing anywhere and everywhere so look for them in your state.

The Brute

The Brute : is an Electronica music group and combines progressive electronic sound with haunting vocals and a melange of SynthPop, Blues and Rock influences.

Daniel Gierke, mastermind of the project, has been writing songs for many years. At the beginning of 2018, the idea arose to steer his musical ambitions into a new direction. The Brute : was born and in Mai 2018 the video „And I Want You…“ was released on YouTube. The positive response of the audience encouraged The Brute : to continue working on new material.

The songs contain echoes of classic electronic bands but given a more modern touch and come along with a mix of driving bass lines, atmospheric vocals and lyrics that gain new meanings with each listen.

Cherry pill

The name Cherry Pill is a metaphor for life – the sweet and joyful mix with the bitter moments to create a rich experience full of twists and turns. It is a band for sophisticated music lovers who appreciate music that tells a story.

Based in Johannesburg, South Africa the Cherry Pill sound is a blend of musical styles ranging from acoustic folk to upbeat pop rock, with strong influences from classical and jazz music . Thoughtful lyrics and sweet vocal harmonies are underpinned by the soaring melodies of Kristel’s classically-trained violin playing and Rory’s blues and rock-infused
guitar licks.

Their latest recording ‘Chocolate Box’ will take you on a musical journey, with each song evoking a different emotion – from the wistful romanticism of “Silent Movie” to the darkly brooding “Bare”, the pulsing rhythms of “Shoreline” to the tender contemplation of “Things on My Mind”.

Phantom High

Hailing from Toronto and flaunting a deep personal relationship with the pageantry of the macabre, Phantom High is already making their mark on a scene that too often leaves the “fun” out of “dysfunction”. The band has launched with a mission statement to bring authenticity, conviction and theatrics back to a genre that centers on navel-gazing and nihilism. The roots of their inspiration are easy to see for veterans of the golden days of goth and glam, drawing energy as much from horror in film, anime and literature as from the music genres that inform their hard-hitting live show.

Phantom High is anarchistic alchemy, bringing together the fundamental elements of what scares us, what turns us on and what makes us hungry for substance in an ephemeral, digital world that no longer seems interested in keeping the blood pumping, the volume loud and the music in each and every face. Phantom High prides themselves on putting the music and the show first and foremost, staying true to their roots while planting new ones like mausoleums in the fertile ground of a whole new generation desperate for something to scream along to.

For the first time in our lives, we recently saw live music come to a total standstill. Chicago four-piece Releaser, however, isn’t letting 2020 slow them down.

Releaser met and assembled with the common objective to deliver you the highest quality songwriting and live performances that their decades of collective grind and know-how could muster. The music is astute and effective. The lyrical content is honest – something too many artists have abandoned in favor of sounding important. The vocals and melodies are the reason you check out new music. These guys will have you singing in your head at work like a pro.

Stephen, Andre, Duane and Jeremy saw in each other the pieces that had been missing in previous projects. With a different atmosphere of talent and trust, a new culture revealed itself: like-minded and hardworking, where the only band leader is the song.

After debuting their EP, Retox, and sharing the bill with national acts like Local H, Lucky Boys Confusion, The Spill Canvas, Punchline, Red Sun Rising, The Black Moods, Them Evils, Selfish Things, Radkey and AM Taxi, Releaser has begun churning out new material for a sophomore drop.

One week away from hitting I-55 south for seven showcases at SXSW, 2020 was gearing up to be a hectic one. We all know what happened next. But this isn’t these guys’ first rodeo in confronting adversity.

Releaser met the challenge by continuing to demo for their upcoming full-length. The band also recorded and shot a video for Richard Marx’s Should’ve Known Better, out and streaming on July 3rd, 2020.

The Shout-Outs #2

This is a series of articles dedicated to all the bands and artists that participate on our campaigns over the years. A humble presentation in order to motivate them to keep going.

With a voice filled with grit and soul, Carly Jo Jackson brings the heat of the Florida sunshine to all she does.  She has a vocal tone that is as infectious as her charismatic stage presence. She caught the attention of some big names in the music and entertainment business, opening shows for Michael McDonald (who also provided vocals on her recent EP), Kenny Loggins and Dennis Quaid and serving as a musical inspiration to Jeff Bridges who recently featured her on his Sleep Club website.  Other notable performances include her appearance in 2014 on America’s got Talent, where she appeared in two televised episodes and advanced to Judgement Week; performing as an Emerging Artist at 2018’s Summerfest; singing backup vocals to Kenny Loggins at 2019’s Hawaii Songwriters Festival; performing at the renowned 30A Songwriters Festival along with Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Shawn Mullins, Livingston Taylor and more; opening a San Francisco 49ers game; and winning the 2015 Belk Southern Musician Showcase.  In late 2019, she released her EP Au Naturel, produced by Chris Pelonis and Lost Coast Records and distributed by Jimmy Buffet’s Cherry Bomb Records.

Ray Anthony I’m a Duke City New Mexico native burning up the black top with original contemporary funk & jazz music. Innovation and technology fueled with originality are my strengths. I’m a motivated horn player that was at the right place at the right time to take advantage of an opportunity to go on the road back in the day with a funk band based out of Chicago playing the trombone. Hanging & performing throughout the Midwest with great musicians was priceless. These days the music burns inside me. I love writing music, blowing my funky horn &spank’n the plank on keyboards with my new band PowerSlyde.  Funking it up every chance we get performing our own brand of original contemporary funk & jazz music.

PowerSlyde & KEN MATHIS – DRUMS I’ve always considered percussion the foundation for most music. My love for the drums prompted me to experience a variety of music – playing in rock, Christian rock, and pop bands. I love listening to the funk grooves of James Brown and later the heavy bass and drum of the old school music of the 80’s. I then discovered that there were artists out there combining funk, R&B, and some rock guitar and called it Smooth Jazz which immediately became my favorite genre.  Although there are great cover tunes out there, my passion is playing originals and helping to shape the music.

The Rift

With an array of musical influences spanning Flamenco, Thrash Metal, Progressive Rock, Classic Rock, Grunge, Blues, and Reggae, The Rift forged in 2010 with Ovais Malik, Aris Anagnos, & John Anagnos.  Being brothers and long time friends has made the band have a chemistry that is rare and exceptional.  Audiences are often shocked to see so much noise comes from only two to three players.  With so many different influences the band has learned to blend these genres into their own unique style.  After a successful 2018 with the release of Rock Narcotic landing the band on Vans Warped Tour and Next 2 Rock with 95.5 KLOS FM the band has been developing new material for an upcoming album.  Edge of Never and Bad Luck released this summer of 2020 mark the first two single releases for the band since 2018 and the group expect to have more material released for fans come the end of 2020.

Aname’ Rose

Aname’ Rose is an R&B/Neo-soul artist from New Iberia, Louisiana. Rose has been singing since age 3 – and performed on stage for the first at 7 years old. Ever since then Aname’ has made quite a name for herself. , especially in her hometown. Once residents got word of her voice she immediately got booked for weddings, festivals, church events, birthday parties, and has sang the national anthem more than once for school functions – hers and surrounding schools. At age 13, Aname’ decided that she wanted pursue acting as well as singing. She started acting classes At John Robert powers and eventually landed her first movie role in 2015. The movie is a faith based drama that stars Rose, Golden Brooks, and the late Tommy Ford. she still pursues acting till tis day. a few years later, Aname’ got the opportunity to be on American idol (season 16) where she made it to top 70.  shorty after she dropped the southern hit “Swing me” ft new Cupid. The song did very well and is still played in clubs and on the radio today. A few months later  she decided to dive deeper  into her passion by studying at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California where she’s getting an Associates degree in the Vocal Program. Currently Aname’ is continuing her studies and making music of her own.

Formed in a studio underneath a bank in Hoboken, NJ, “BOTM” is the moniker of writing/producing duo, David Fagin (Rosenbergs), and Dan Mcloughlin (Push Stars). BOTM is the “Anti-label” band. By that we mean, historically, most labels have sought to mold a bands’ release wherein every song sounds the same. Not BOTM. It’s our mission that every song this band releases will sound completely different than the song before it. Some may like, some may not, but we find it completely boring not being able to tell the difference between song 1 and song 10.

Additionally, like a book club for music, this old but incredibly talented (and good-looking) duo will be releasing a new single every month, which, in the style of the long gone 45RPMs, will also contain a B-side. The first being “Lost” and “Love Will Only Get In The Way.” Occasionally, the b-side will be an acoustic/stripped down version of side-A. How cool is that?

As often as possible, each track will feature performances from various friends and enemies throughout the local – and not so local – NYC music scene. Of course, this is all dependent on the world not being hit w/ an international pandemic, but what are the odds of that?

We hope you like it. Stay safe.

Dan and David

Azure Wolf

Azure Wolf is a female-fronted, DC-based indie rock band with an ethereal twist.  They have a strong lyrical focus with dark and deep vibes that will leave your soul tingling.

Driven by energetic beats and haunting guitar tones, this band is hoping to bring in a new wave of indie rock.  In a band review by the Recording Artists Guild, Azure Wolf had been described as “dream alt-rock”, and they’re proud to fall in that genre category.

Since forming in February of 2020, the band has been busy with live shows and recording their next string of singles and an EP, Post Impressions, set to release in 2021.

They’ve performed in numerous venues in Washington, DC, including the famous Black Cat, DC9, State Theatre and The Pie Shop.

In their short time as a band, Azure Wolf has developed a strong local following in the DC and Northern VA area, with a total of 3,650 followers across their social media platforms.

Sean Tobin

Born and raised on the New Jersey shore, Sean Tobin was Influenced by folk-song troubadours like Guy Clark, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, as well as high-energy rockers like Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger and Tom Petty. Self-taught and trained by the New Jersey bar scene, Tobin owes much of his high-energy performances to his time spent busking on the streets of Galway, Ireland throughout 2015 and 2017.

In 2017, Tobin graduated college with a degree in writing. Having expected to become a novelist, his business as a musician began to overshadow his prose. Uncertain of his future, Tobin walked El Camino de Santiago, a 500-mile trail through Spain, with his guitar tied to his pack. Upon the trail’s completion, the future became obvious.

Tobin returned to New Jersey in the fall of 2017 where he worked as a technical construction writer to fund his music. He released his first album, This Midnight, in the summer of 2018, and in 2019 he played Frank Turner’s Lost Evenings III Festival at the House of Blues in Boston. He quit his 9-5 soon after.

In July of 2019, Sean released Dreams & Black Caffeine, a four-song EP recorded in Ocean, NJ with his band, The Boardwalk Fire. The group played several shows promoting the work, and had planned a tour for the summer of 2020, but were forced to cancel due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Instead, Sean and the guys got to work on new music from remote locations. The releases of the nearly a dozen singles followed, and they’ll continue to release new music through 2020.

The Shout-Outs #1

This is a series of articles dedicated to all the bands and artists that participate on our campaigns over the years. A humble presentation in order to motivate them to keep going.

Based in London, Pilgrims’ Dream is the project of singer-songwriter/producer Rob Ouseley. Influenced by bands such as Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver, Ouseley creates an ‘incredibly harmonious’ (Indie Pop-Ups) sound that ‘really pops in all the right ways’ (Ear To The Ground Music). It has seen him reach the finals of the American Songwriting Awards, and received international radio airplay. His self-produced singles have gained over 100,000 streams on Spotify as well as featuring in the Alexrainbird YouTube compilations which have had millions of views. ‘Redemption’ also saw Pilgrims’ Dream named Richer Unsigned’s ‘Artist Of The Week’ calling him ‘definitely one to watch’ and lauding his ‘unique blend of harmonically rich music’. After a summer of festival appearances, Ouseley played a sold-out headline show in London to kick off 2020. Latest release ‘Life Lives Inside’, a collaboration with critically acclaimed folk singer Flo Perlin, was premiered by Folk Radio, has reached the finals of the Coffee Music Project, and has received support from multiple BBC Radio stations and Mahogany.

Jacob Melton is a Country Music artist and songwriter from Woodbury, Tennessee. Growing up in a musical family, which includes a grandfather that played bass in rock music for 30 years and a 91-year-old great-grandfather who is still “pickin’” bluegrass, his appreciation for musicianship and love of different genres was deeply engrained. Jacob first picked up a guitar at the age of 14 and was writing his own songs by the age of 17. He joined NASI, started making connections in Nashville, and formed his first band at the age of 20. Burning Years went on performing for nearly a decade regionally across the state of Tennessee. They released six singles to ReverbNation during that time span. At the age of 30, Jacob decided to focus more of his efforts into songwriting and perfecting his own original sound. He met studio musician and Tim McGraw’s guitar player, Adam Shoenfeld, and the two immediately found a groove together. Jacob and Adam produced the single “90 Proof and Smooth” which gained attention from established artists and radio stations such as 95.5 KLOS where he was featured on the Frosty, Heidi and Frank Show. This has led the 33-year-old to now embark on his first solo project and the Jacob Melton “Self-Titled” debut EP is scheduled to release April 10th, 2020. The EP has already gained the attention of “The Boot”, who plans to do a world premiere to the song “Live This Lie” upon the album’s release.

Sofia Lynch has done some growing up since her debut recording, and it shows up all over her second release Lately, from the lyrical content to the production and arrangements. The Columbia, South Carolina based singer-songwriter may still only be eighteen years old, but her artistic growth puts her on a whole new level this time around. “I wanted to try something different with the production,” Lynch says, “and I was looking at going a step further in the studio with these songs.” With the assistance of Lexington, SC producer Cory Plaugh and his Plaugh’s House Recording Studio, and Nashville, Tennessee producer Femke Weidema at Liz Rose Studio, Lynch has framed her still confessional relationship songs with an array of sounds that recall 80’s and 90’s productions as well as the more recent Taylor Swift excursions into electro-pop. For her it was a natural progression. Lynch’s writing has also progressed with maturity, she admits.

The Wilderness is the next big band you haven’t heard. However, the fans are talking about their over 400 live shows across the USA and Canada in the last four years alone. With an independently released EP to their credit – Seminary Road (2018) and six singles, “If I Have to Die” (2020) “Pick You Up” (2020), “Virginia Sapphire” (2019), “Fall (Despite What You Do)” (2019), “Dancing In The Dive Bars” (2018), “Hurry Up And Wait” (2018). The Wilderness has everything it takes to make it big. Simply put, follow this band – not for the fame and glory but for the amazing music and powerful live performance that will remind you of why we listen to music in the first place. The Wilderness continue to build their fanbase the old fashioned way – through their sound, international touring, work ethic and, frankly, just being really good dudes.

Gambino was born in Brazoria County, Texas, in the city of Lake Jackson. Residing there for ten years before moving to Angleton, TX. At the age of 17 and already playing the guitar and singing for about a year at this time, Gambino started to play and sing in his church Youth Group while leading worship. A record label out of Oklahoma helped him make his decision when they called him with a record deal to sign, several months after submitting the original, “Your Love Runs Deep” from the album “Shadows” by Shattered Silence (released Feb 4th, 2014). Gambino then left the Navy to pursue his career in music, January of 2013. In 2017, Gambino left Shattered Silence as the lead vocalist/front man and embarked on a journey as a soloist.
